Travel Advice, Insurance & Protection

What is ATOL protection?

ATOL is a UK scheme that protects package holidays that include flights. If a travel company fails, you get your money back or are brought home.

Why is booking through a travel consultant safer?

A good consultant books through protected suppliers, explains your booking conditions and supports you if plans change or problems happen.

How long does my passport need to be valid?

Many countries require at least three to six months' validity after your return date. Check well before you book.

Do I need a visa?

It depends on the destination and your nationality. Your consultant will tell you what is needed, such as the US ESTA or other electronic visas.

Do I need vaccinations?

Some destinations recommend or require vaccinations. Speak to your GP or a travel clinic six to eight weeks before you travel.

When should I buy travel insurance?

Buy it as soon as you book, so you are covered if you have to cancel before you travel.

What should travel insurance cover?

It should cover medical costs, cancellation, lost or delayed baggage and personal liability. Always declare any medical conditions.

What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?

It depends on your booking terms and insurance. Contact your consultant first, as they can explain your options.

Where can I check official travel advice?

The UK government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) publishes up-to-date travel advice for every country.

What if something goes wrong while I am away?

Contact your consultant or the emergency number on your booking. Having someone on your side makes resolving problems much easier.
